Edward L Johnson Former Caterpillar Coworker December 21, 2014

To Ed's Family,

I am very sad to read of Ed's passing. Ed was one of the four Eds in Computing and Controls group in Building E at the Caterpillar Technical Center in Mossville, IL. There were Ed, Ed Prisby, Ed Streight and me, the young Electrical Engineer. The group was renamed Controls and Fluid Mechanics. Ed made my projects workable. I left the Tech Center in March of 1973 to go to Production Technology, Inc. (Caterpillar Inertia Welders). I hope your many happy memories will help you get through this most difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Vicki Matheny Deepest Sympathy December 19, 2014
I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to Ed's entire family.  I worked with Ed at Caterpillar for many years and knew him to be such a fun loving person, always with a smile on his face and eager to tell a joke.  My Mother actually worked with Vonnie so many years ago and when we finally realized that Ed and Vonnie knew me as a child it was such a hoot.  I also played darts on a team with Ed in the 1980s and we had such great fun, had dinner at their house, and, in general, just enjoyed and loved life all together so much.  They had tons of friends and were such a fun couple and loved each other so much, it was so heartwarming to witness.  Ed will be missed by many but I can honestly say that he thoroughly enjoyed life to the fullest.  Ed was Ed and everyone loved him for it.
